Rosetta Stone shortcuts this step and significantly reduced mental translation time for me. Anyone who has tried to learn a new language knows the frustration of thinking in your mother tongue and hunting for the word in the new vocabulary. It's great to use my new vocabulary without having to pause and wait for the bridge to form between the English and Spanish words. Already I find myself automatically practicing Spanish, without having to translate in my head! The program itself is deceptively simple and intuitive to use. The live, interactive sessions are incredibly helpful. Nothing I tried before compares to the Rosetta Stone program. You can’t create language immersion by using a computer program for an hour a day. I’ve tried a variety of different programs and even taken a class in medical Spanish.
